OTHER SPECIFICATIONS
- The Building Information System RTS has granted FINNFOAM thermal insulation products the M1 label, which corresponds to the highest quality and the lowest emissions.
- FINNFOAM does not release particles or gases that are hazardous to health.
- FINNFOAM does not become moldy, decompose, or decay (tested by VTT).
- FINNFOAM has good chemical resistance. It is resistant to water and inorganic chemicals such as acids and bases, but not organic chemicals or other hydrocarbon solvents.
- FINNFOAM cannot be used as nutrition by micro-organisms and neither can organisms grow inside the material.
- By using FINNFOAM, you can save on construction materials –> no need for backing, wind-protective panels, vapor barriers, etc.
- FINNFOAM offers excellent insulation capacity even in thinner structures, which means that it leaves more room for practical applications
- FINNFOAM is easy to work with. The material can be cut with regular woodworking tools.
- FINNFOAM does not crumble or cause prickling or dust, and it is comfortable to use.
- FINNFOAM can be glued using PU, epoxy, and various construction adhesives (pay attention to the instructions issued by the manufacturer of the adhesive).
- FINNFOAM can be painted or coated (using both latex paints and urethane and epoxy resins).
- FINNFOAM is compatible with all conventional construction materials.
FIRE PERFORMANCE AND SERVICE TEMPERATURE
FINNFOAM’s fire class is undetermined (NPD). It does not contain toxic fire retardants, i.e., bromine compounds. Thus, you should always ensure structural fireproofing where necessary. Air cannot pass through the impermeable FINNFOAM to provide oxygen to the scene of a fire. FINNFOAM does not significantly contribute to a fire. Fire will be stifled in a closed space. The ignition temperature of FINNFOAM exceeds 300 °C and its auto-ignition temperature is above 400 °C.
In terms of emissions, the combustion products of the panels correspond to those of wood. The long-term service temperature in which the panel’s strength properties remain nearly unaltered is approximately -180…+75 °C. The panels will maintain their shape up to a temperature of approximately +90 °C.
The thermal expansion coefficient is 0.07 mm/(mK). The density is 30–50 kg/m3.
